Description
"Exceptional" Jefferson Nickel Collection!! Use "MSN Live Cash Back" offering and I'll deduct an additional $200!!           This is a great collection of Jefferson Nickels.  You won't find coins of this caliber in a $500 Dansco Album Set!  I’ve been working on this one for more years, looked through more 2x2’s and rolls than I care to remember.  I enjoy hunting for those really nice full step Jefferson Nickels.  While on this search, I have found many of the tougher dates with five or more steps, but have a nick or small bridge that would not allow the coin to be graded full step.  The set includes numerous early date full steppers.  All the coins are brilliant uncirculated and are fully struck, except for some of the tough dates in the 50’s and 60’s, like the 1953-S.  I still get that special pleasure flipping through pages of exceptionally nice raw nickels.  This set is ready for a new owner and I’m ready to start working on the next one!             The entire collection from 1938 to 2008 contains 219 coins, 174 Business and 45 Proofs.  This set includes both the Reverse 38 and Reverse 40 for the 1939 P/D/S coins (all six of the 1939's) along with both the Business and Satin Finish strikes starting in 2005.  I have also included the 1994-P SMS, but not the 1997 SMS.  Of the 83 coins from 1938 to 1970, there are 36 full step coins.  Of the 91 coins from 1971 to 2008, there are 84 full step coins.  The Proof set runs from 1968 through 2008 and includes both Type 1 & 2 1979 and 1981 proofs.  I've added three varieties to this set: 1938 (FS, QDO) FS-21.5, 1939-D DDO#1 and 1941-S (close to FS, Large S) FS-24.5, for a total of 222 coins, see pictures.               While viewing the pictures attached, you will see several markings on the 2x2’s that will help you understand a little bit about each coin:    (1)   When you see a “dot” to the left of the date, this means the coin has a tick or bridge in the steps.  (2)   My grade opinion of each coin is in the top right of the 2x2.  Examples, MS65 or MS64+.  The “+” indicates the coin is nicer than average for grade, but would not make the next grade higher. (3)   The number below the grade represents the step count, i.e. 5.00 (4 full lines or 5 steps) or 5.50 (4.5 full lines or 5.5 steps) or 6.00 (5 full lines or 6 steps).  When you see a coin with a step designation of 5.00 and a “dot” next to the date, there will be a nick or bridge in one of the lines.  For those impossible or tougher dates, like the 1954-S, 1968-D or 1969-S, you will see 3cs (3 complete steps or 2 full lines).   I was only able to attach 12 pictures to this listing.  I did not include the last few pages of the Business Strikes and  none of the Proofs.  I’ve added the Obverse and Step Close-up pictures for four of the tougher coins; 1938-S, 1953-P, 1961-D, 1968-S.  I will send additional pictures of specific dates for serious inquiries.    The sale of this set is final and can not be returned, unless pre-negotiated term and conditions can be agreed upon.  With so many nice coins in 2x2’s, I would not know if any coins were tampered with.  Even with the coins I have pictures of, pretty tough to know who did what.  Please contact me if you have additional questions or want to see photos of other coins.   Thank you for looking.
