Medal is officially impressed to:"6396 Pte. J. MULLIGAN. RL. DUB: FUS:". Medal is in very good condition with a couple of very minor edge knocks. Ribbon looks original. Private Joseph Mulligan joined the Royal Dublin Fusiliers on July 18, 1898. He lists previous service with the 9th Bat. Rifle Brigade. He served in South Africa from 31 January, 1900 to 11 February, 1902. His file shows service in Aden? from 4 Dec.1902 to 10 Feb. 1903. He evidently went insane and was returned home for treatment. I have several pages of copied documents including the Roll list for the RDF, verifying his 5 bars. Also included is a CD Rom that has his entire file copied (131 pages!).
