Medal is officially impressed to:"7231 Pte. B. MURPHY. RL: DUBLIN FUS:". Medal is in very good condition with a few minor edge knocks. Pte. Brien Murphy was with the 1st. Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers in the Boer War. I have a photocopy of the Medal Roll for the RDF, that verifies his 4 bars. I also have a copy of his WW1 Medal Index Card, showing his rank in WW1 as C/Sgt. He was entitled to a British War Medal for WW1, and the card shows he retired in 1923. These copies are included with the medal. Ribbon looks like an old replacement. No other research on the recipient.
