The Hudson Ship Die was designed by Frank C. Higgins and sculpted by E. Roine for T. Elder's 1909 Hudson-Fulton Exposition piece HK-373.  The Sommer Islands Ship was prepared for M. Dickeson in the 1850's.  The piece was struck for Bashlow by August Frank Co. using Elder's die. Actual production of the 3 types of SCD's was less then indicated with all coins being either Very Scarce or Rare. There does appear to be some small black spots on the Bronze dollar on the lower ship area, I think that they should acetone off if you desire. Otherwise the set appears mark free, original and high grade. I would estimate less than 2000 full sets in original packaging are still out there.
