' Description Beautiful  BASHLOW SILVER RESTRIKE OF THE 1861 CONFEDERATE CENT.   Made from the original dies of Robert Lovett this is a original restrike with a lot of history! This coin was struck with the original dies by Mr. Bashlow in 1961. Only 5000 were struck and placed for sale before the dies were given to the Smithsonian Institute. The chisel cuts visible on reverse of coin was an effort by Robert Lovett to destroy the dies after the fall of the Confederacy. This is a unique piece a great coin for any collection. This coin has toned and still has some sheen and luster and  it appears to be a mint state coin . Grading is subjective, please study photos and judge for yourself!  Good luck, good bidding!
